Reading

The brain processes reading much the same way that it would process a foreign language. Different parts of the brain are engaged when we read. The occipital lobe sees the shapes of the letters and words. The frontal lobe analyzes and interpret the shapes to give meaning to the words. The temporal lobe gives meaning to the sound in our mind (subvocalization) as we read.
